The Big Wonderland

November 3, 2006

Jinja asks “If New York is the Big Apple, what is Phnom Penh?

He suggests “The Big Sawmaw” as an answer (a sawmaw is a small, round fruit; there’s a picture at the link).

In a similar vein, Vireak wonders why Cambodia doesn’t have a slogan like most other popular tourists destinations — Malaysia, truly Asia; Amazing Thailand, etc.

He suggests “The Land of Wonders.” But as a few people point out in comments, the Ministry of Tourism folks have already christened the Kingdom with this slogan: “A World of Treasures.”

If that’s the case, though, Tourism should do something to actually let people know about it.
