Losers unite

April 5, 2007

Ostensibly dissatisfied with their meager showings in the recent commune elections, Cambodia’s two biggest losers are talking about joining forces.

Prince Norodom Ranariddh and opposition leader Sam Rainsy revealed on 03 April, about the secret meetings held between the two parties in order to look for a common strategy to form a national movement to compete with the CPP for the leadership of the country.

From Paris, France, Prince Ranariddh told Rasmei Kampuchea by phone, in the afternoon of 03 April that, following the 01 April commune election, the first step taken by the prince and by NRP was to gather the force of all democrats and royalists. The prince said that he supported Sam Rainsy’s call for the unification of democrats and royalists.

This really is beyond pathetic. Out of the 1,621 commune-level positions up for grabs in last Sunday’s poll, Prince Norodom Ranariddh won an impressive total of zero. Even most narcissist could take that hint. But not Ronny. No way. He still wants to be around for next year’s national elections and see if he can’t get into negative territory, apparently.

How much face can one man lose?

  1. He’s back to the 2003 election tactic. Another Alliance of Democrats? What a hopeless guy!
