Brad Pitt’s new Khmer tattoo

Brad Pitt got a new tattoo. It’s on his stomach. According to the gossip mags, it’s Angelina’s birthday written in Khmer script. As everybody obviously knows, Angelina was born on June 4, 1975. The picture of Brad’s new tattoo, however, clearly displays 4.6.74. For Mr. Pitts sake, let’s hope the photo is a hoax, and not yet another lesson in the perils of foreign-language tattoos.
UPDATE: As pointed out in comments, this interpretation is almost certainly wrong.

Not so sure. The last figure is partially hidden, and as you can verify here, the Khmer figures 4 and 5 are pretty similar, except that the latter has a small curl on the ascending stroke.
I’d say, from the picture, it could as well be a 5 than a 4.

manur is right. more likely it’s a five. 4-6-75, day, month, year, written the non-American way.
i think he got her birthday from her Khmer passport, Khmer citizen ship card, or Khmer residence family book.

This is how ALL asians in S.E. Asia document dates. Unlike America they ALWAYS

S.E. Asia Countries document all dates with day, month and year in that order always. Also, Russians and other countries document dates this way opposite of U.S.
Same with names, in Asia, always the Surname (family name) is written or spoken first then given (first) name is written or spoken!

Chinese official commie dates are frequently yyyy/mm/dd.
Thai surnames are behind first names, so are Indian ones. All Asians last time I looked…
That said I don’t give a s*** what BP got tatooed on his stomach.

I have no doubt that he got the date correct. They have been together long enough. Plus if you were with someone like Angelina, would you forget her birthday. She is beautiful yet also a little lethal.

Angelina has a Cambodian passport ? WTF ? I guess she got it for donating all that money which in the end got misappropriated by her manager over here…

Most people got Khmer letter tattoo, but rarely Khmer numerals.

There should be some shops in Phnom Penh that specialize in Khmer tattoos or other cities in Cambodia should have them. Have fun in Cambodia!

If you want a real Khmer tattoo, I think you have to visit a monk. It takes about 3 days, and you cant talk during that time or the magical powers of the tattoo will be ruined.
