Cambotube, the online video sharing site hosted by Cambofest, made the news today in the The Cambodia Daily. Vutha picks up the story.

Cambodian government spokesman and information Minister say that “if there is something wrong on the site, something which is relates to pedophilia or terrorism for example, then we would take action.” He added that “Sites like this must operate within the frameworks, tradition and custom of Cambodia.” Daily reported.

Rather obviously, this is just some throw away line from Information Minister Khieu Kanharith made between whiskies and women. The amount of available evidence that would suggest the government gives what scientist call a “monkey’s uncle” about what transpires on the Internet is virtually nil. That seems unlikely to change any time soon.
