Thailand recalls ambassador
November 6, 2009
Just as many had feared, the stormy relationship between Thailand and Cambodia was pushed to the edge yesterday when Bangkok responded to fugitive ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra’s appointment as the neighbouring country’s economic adviser by recalling its ambassador from Phnom Penh.
The tat:
Cambodia’s retaliation – the planned recall of its ambassador here, You Aye, who Deputy Cambodian Prime Minister Sok An said would not return until Bangkok sends its own envoy back – ensured bilateral ties were at their worst level in years.
Mai pen rai.

Khun Weera at the Bangkok Post has an idea: appoint Sam Rainsey and Mu Sochua as personal advisers on foreign affairs to Thai FM Kasit.

Great! This is getting better than I thought. Interesting! I like to see that happened. I wonder what Sam Rainsey and Mu Sochua have to say.

Sam Rainsy, as quoted by the Daily, already said no way he would ever serve a foreign country.

The “red shirts” were missing from the recent ASEAN summit but Hun Sen made sure that their griefs were represented by himself in person serving as a proxy for Thaksin.
Thaksin used Hun Sen to attack the thai government and Hun Sen used Thaksin to flex a muscle he never had.
Now thaksin and most thais are hopping mad and retaliating.
I predict everyone will try to calm hostilities.
Hun Sen will refrain from shooting from the hips and shut up.
Thaksin realises he made a mistake as he did by orchestrating the “red shirts” during the violent demonstrations. He has definitely become public enemy number 1.
This has only served to gain popularity for Abhisit and unite the thais. Now he has the upper hand.
While everyone forgets that cambodia is the victim of the PV conflict.
Not a smart move by Hun sen or Thaksin.
Next episode kiss and make up until the next lovers spat.

When you proclaim ” bring them on” you had better back it. Thaksin and Hun sen didn’t.
Dumber than Bush you can’t get smarter than that.

Thaksin will come Cambodia soon. Thaksin and Hun Sen are backing up their words. I’m just waiting for the episode, when Abhisit reacts. I’m not going to get ahead of myself. Wait and see!
