I have a question about cost of living in Cambodia. A friend of ours wants to support an American missionary who is living in Cambodia now and the missionary is stating that he needs $8000 a month in order to support himself and his family (Private schools, etc). I am leery of his request and am trying to find first hand accounts of how much does it cost to live in Cambodia on average. Thank you.

Rema ,
I am an ex pat living in Cambodia and can live very comfortably on a little more than $ 1,000.00 a month , no private schools or fancy apartment or deluxe SUV etc , but then , arn’t missionaries supposed to live close to the populace ?

Do not support missionaries to cambodia. You’ll be appalled at the damage they are doing to cultures and families in this beautiful land. Cambodia has suffered enough.
